Introducing ThoughtTrack: Voice-First Thought Capture

Your Best Ideas Don't Wait for a Keyboard

You're walking the dog when the solution to a work problem suddenly clicks. You're falling asleep when you think of the perfect birthday gift. You're in the shower when the opening line of that email finally comes to you.

By the time you grab your phone, unlock it, open Notes, and start typing — half the thought is gone. The other half comes out mangled.

This is the problem ThoughtTrack solves.

What Is ThoughtTrack?

ThoughtTrack is a voice-first thought capture app for iPhone (and Apple Watch). The core loop is simple:

1. Speak. Tap your phone or raise your wrist and say your thought. Two seconds, done. 2. Process. On-device speech recognition transcribes and categorizes your thought. Nothing leaves your device. 3. Resurface. Context-aware intelligence brings the right thought back at the right time — based on location, calendar, and time of day.

It's not a voice memo app. It's not a notes app. It's a thinking tool.

Why Voice?

Voice is the fastest capture method humans have. You can speak roughly 150 words per minute. You can type about 40. That 4x difference is the gap between catching a thought and losing it.

But speed isn't the only advantage. When you speak a thought, you capture the tone and energy of the idea, not just the words. The excitement, the urgency, the "oh wait, and also..." follow-up that typing would have filtered out.

Why On-Device?

This was non-negotiable. Your thoughts are the most private data you have. More private than your photos, your messages, or your search history. We're not going to send them to a server.

ThoughtTrack uses Apple's on-device speech recognition. Your voice recordings are processed locally. Transcriptions are stored in your private iCloud database. We can't access your thoughts. We don't want to.

What About Resurfacing?

Capturing a thought is only half the problem. The other half is making sure it comes back when you need it.

ThoughtTrack uses context signals — your location, your calendar, the time of day — to intelligently resurface thoughts. Mentioned a grocery item? It might pop up when you're near a store. Had a work idea? It'll come back Monday morning. Thought of something for your partner? It resurfaces when they call.

All of this happens on-device. No cloud processing, no third-party APIs.

When Can I Try It?

March 2026. ThoughtTrack has been approved by Apple and launches this month.

Join the waitlist and we'll send you one email the moment it's available. That's it — no newsletters, no drip campaigns.

The Old Dog Devs Promise

ThoughtTrack follows the same principles as DreamsJar: native Swift, privacy-first, no ads, no tracking. We build tools that respect your time and your data. ThoughtTrack will be no different.

We're excited about this one. See you in March.
